Return to TAP with MozArt – cabaret opera this Friday, November 24th and Saturday, November 25th
It is a musical group of excellent level, and unique in the country, said Orchestra Director Sergio Freeman when referring to the Camerata Mazatlán whose members will return to the Ángela Peralta Theater this Friday the 24th and Saturday November 25th at eight pm during the MozART performance.
At a press conference held at Casa Haas to reveal the details of this opera-cabaret located among the major events of the Festival Cultural Mazatlán 2023, the guest director indicated that the members of the Camerata Mazatlán have a great musical training, which allows them to approach repertoires that cover various musical genres, giving them a unique character.
“The Camerata Mazatlán is a group that I would say is unique in this country, because it is such a flexible group, there is no orchestra in this country that does opera, that does ballet, that does symphonic concerts, that does concerts of slightly more popular music, that does Broadway.”
“Now that they are going to present a bit of Broadway, there is no group like this in this sense and the musicians are very flexible, very capable, and of course there are always challenges, and there is always room for improvement, perfection does not exist, but we try get as close as possible,” said Professor Freeman.
Regarding his next commitment during the staging of MozArt, he highlighted that he, the musicians and the singers have a great challenge, since the repertoire that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart made is not easy, it is demanding, since the composer generated almost perfect music, and with immense richness.
“Mozart represents the summit of musical classicism, without a doubt the best composer of that time. Mozart was undoubtedly an operatic composer, and we will perform stage fragments of music from four of his greatest work,” he added.
Freeman considers that Mozart’s music is the most elegant and is perfectly assembled with the stage action, so it is great when the audience sees the stage, the action and can hear the music, or can hear the action in the music at the same time, generating a great proposal.
