The Ángela Peralta Theater, a nineteenth-century jewel of admirable architectural beauty, surprised Elisa Beristain and Javier Ceriani, entertainment journalists who this morning from the emblematic venue broadcast their program Chisme No Like, one of the most popular entertainment news spaces in Spanish in the world.
The entertainment journalists were excited to see the Ángela Peralta Theater, on whose stage they recorded their last program in the port after staying for several days in the city, where they arrived to share – among other news – the Carnaval activities. Mazatlán International 2024.
Chisme No Like has a weekly audience that exceeds that of many of the most popular entertainment programs on Univision and Telemundo.
During the program Elisa Beristain and Javier Ceriani pointed out that their visit to Mazatlán has been most pleasant, and began approximately two weeks ago, but since last December 2023, they have promoted what is happening in the Port, all the details of Carnaval Internacional Mazatlán 2024 “Eclipse Barroco” and more.
In the broadcast, the journalists thanked the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Sinaloa, Estrella Palacios Domínguez, for their attention, they spoke about themes of the show, they were happy to see the Ángela Peralta Theater and in honor of the venue Elisa recited a poem by Amado Nervo.
To continue, the Latin duo chatted with Raúl Rico González, General Director of the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán,, who gave details of what was experienced during the Carnaval festival, spoke about the history of the Ángela Peralta Theater and addressed the importance of arts in the municipality.
“Carnaval was born 126 years ago and it is the city’s festival, it is the pretext to go out into the streets, go out to the plazas to laugh, dance, sing. One of the functions of the Instituto de Cultura is to organize Carnaval, but the work is continuous, we have opera seasons throughout the year, (this 2024) there will be seven more operas that accumulate, they are of a good level, we have a training center directed by Maestro Enrique Patrón, we have a ballet season, a theater season, and more,” he responded.
Enrique Vega Ayala, official chronicler of the city, enriched the talk with his stories.
“Unlike other destinations, we are a sun and beach destination with culture, we have a Historical Center that brings together several artistic monuments such as this theater that since 1990 has been an artistic and national monument. This theater was inaugurated (on a day like) 150 years ago today, it was in 1874,” said Vega Ayala.
Among the questions, Beristain asked the City Chronicler to mention some famous people from this land, and without hesitation he mentioned the idol of Mexico Pedro Infante, Fernando Valadez, Genaro Estrada, among other illustrious people, and recalled the passing of the great poet Amado Nervo who found his intellectual awakening in Mazatlán.
